Keena Chihuahua mix , 4 yrs old female, 11 lbs.
?Keena? Chihuahua mix , 4 yrs old female, 11 lbs. Keena means ?Brave? and brave this little one is from surviving the streets of Mexico Keena was rescued from the streets of Ensenada by our volunteers. She was chasing cars and nearly got hit several times. She was in a busy road and chasing the tires of them when they drove by right in the middle of an intersection! Silly doggy! So we scooped her up and brought her to our vet. She was examined and he noticed that she had an eye injury. Not a recent one but the vet told us that her eye would have met a ?blunt blow? to have the eye crushed back into the head like that. So we had a simple surgery performed on her where they just sewed it shut and it healed up in no time at all. Now it looks like there was never even an eye there.. It does not affect her in any way. She runs and plays, she wants to follow you everywhere and be in your lap. She is such a sweet and gentle dog that had a horrible existence in Mexico. But now she is healthy, happy and loved in her foster home until we find her a permanent home. She gets along great w/other dogs. We are not sure what she is a mix of as so many dogs down there have many many breeds in them. Our guess is Chihuahua and doxy and who knows what else. A darling Mexico Mutt! Keena is a super sweet dog that just wants your attention. She is a very calm dog. She seems to be potty trained and only had one accident when her foster mom woke up late. She loves being outdoors sunbathing and napping. She also loves attention and being petted. She warms up to people very quickly after they give her some attention, and will follow them home! She would love to be in a home with a yard for her to hang out. She is a little afraid of big dogs, but after some introduction, she doesn't mind them so much. She is not much of a barker, but will let you know if someone is at the door, or if she is afraid.
